Birthday haul

It was my birthday a few weeks ago and I was lucky enough to receive lots of money and gift cards as presents from generous family and friends. The money and gift cards were very welcome as I needed to buy lots of new clothes due to going down a clothes size in the last year. Half my wardrobe has been given to charity shops, so my birthday money gave me the perfect excuse to go shopping!

I had lots of New Look gift cards as it's a commonly known fact that it's one of my favourite shops, so here's what I treated myself to from there...

New shorts! You can find them here and here

Peplum top. So pretty!

Flat white shoes - now out of stock

Lots of dresses! I'm only giving a little preview of these
as I'm saving most of them to wear on my honeymoon

A few people also gave me money for my birthday so I went shopping in Cardiff a few weeks ago... I love a bit of guilt-free shopping.

I love Superdry tshirts! Coincidentally, mint and pink are my favourite colours
at the moment.

Short Disney onesie from Tesco

I've been waiting for these two DVDs to be re-released for ages...
they both happened to become available just after my birthday! Thanks, Disney.

Disney Princess bag from the Disney Store. £2.50!

New bags from Primark. I couldn't choose between black/white
and coral/stone so had to get both! £6 each

A few make up items

I made the most of various sales and online discounts to make sure I made the most out of my birthday money and got the best value for money I possibly could. I'm really pleased with my haul and think I did quite well!

Do you have any of these items? Have you written a haul post lately? Send me your links, pretty please!

May's wishlist

There are lots of items I want at the moment which I can't justify buying, so I'm compiling a wishlist to keep track just in case I suddenly find some spare money. Unfortunately, this is unlikely when grown-up things like rent need to be paid. I did the same thing in February, and still haven't bought any of the items featured on the list. This doesn't bode well for May's wishlist... never mind. I can dream!

This is in the sale but I still cant bring myself to pay £30 for a bag!

This hoodie is just beautiful... but also very pricey.

Brilliant film!

So pretty...

Pretty shorts for my holiday

Wrong time of year, I know. But look how nice it is!

There are plenty of other things I could add to the list, but I'll keep it to a manageable length for now before I give in and start buying things. I will now continue in my endless hunt for a money tree...

March's shopping haul

January and February were very tight months due to the financial hangover from Christmas and having to pay for my annual car insurance, so I decided to treat myself to a few things after March's pay day. My haul isn't very big compared to other similar posts I've read, but I'm not very good at spending money and far too good at saving it. Most of these items were either reduced or on offer too... I'm always on the look out for a bargain.

The summery items are in preparation for my holiday to Florida in September. I'm well aware that I probably won't get the chance to wear them in this country if this weather carries on!

So here's what I've bought lately:

Roxy and Animal flip flops - £5.75 each from Play.
These would have been £16 each at full price!

Black shorts from Asda, £6
Vest from Asda, £6
Wrap over top from New Look, £12.99

Tshirt from Superdry, £19.99. I know it seems like a lot to pay for a
tshirt, but they're very flattering and comfortable!

Rimmel powder and Barry M nail varnish,
£8.98 for the lot due to a 3 for 2 offer in Boots

£1.99 each from Tesco for big 400ml bottles...
I love Herbal Essences but I've never tried this one before!

So there's my haul... the only extravagant purchase by my standards is the Superdry tshirt, but I'm in love with their tshirts after my boyfriend's parents bought me one for Christmas. The make up, shampoo and conditioner are essentials, and I do need some more summer clothes so those purchases are justified too. This is what I do when I spend money... I have to justify every single little thing. I should rename this blog 'Little Miss Sensible'.

Has anyone else been shopping in March? Feel free to leave me some links to your haul posts!

February's wishlist

Is anyone else finding that February's pay day is taking far too long to get here? January was a very lean month due to a financial hangover after Christmas, and February is even worse for some reason. I have a wishlist of six things I really want to buy at the moment, so I'll console myself by blogging about them and looking at pictures of them until I can actually afford to buy them. That's more sensible than putting them on my credit card, right?

The soundtrack from Les Misérables... I've fallen in love with the songs all over again since seeing the film in the cinema recently.

The Jungle Book DVD... it's currently £33 on Amazon, not sure if I'll ever be able to bring myself to pay that much for it!

This beautiful gilet from Superdry is horrifically expensive... still, I can dream.

Pretty dress from New Look. This one actually is affordable!

A Thumper teddy from the Disney store... beautiful but expensive.

I've heard good things about this product, and really want it if it's half as good as the Sugar Crush body scrub from Tuesday's post!

So... does anyone want to find a money tree for me?
